The Future of Yoga

9/11 Laughter & Yoga for Peace

This conference is more than simply a professional gathering of yoga teachers. It is a call to action, a place to join as a community of yoga leaders and make a lasting contribution. Millions of Americans have embraced the path of yoga for its mental, spiritual and health benefits. If you are a yoga teacher, you inspire students and spread the yoga movement every day. Yoga teachers understand the benefits of yoga and the pressing needs of our society. Yoga Alliance believes that the practice of yoga is not just a market trend or industry but a social movement. True transformation is the objective at Yoga Alliance. There will be four community forums designed to be an opportunity for yoga teachers to discuss pressing issues facing our community and create constructive advice for the future. You don’t have to wait to share your thoughts on these important matters. We recently announced the YA Community, an online home for RYTs to connect with fellow yoga teachers and make a lasting contribution to the future of yoga. The conversations started in the online forums will lead to the real life discussions at the conference.

Social networking has become one of the biggest tools teachers are now using to promote classes and workshops. A daily or weekly post on Facebook, Twitter, etc. of your teaching schedule can help bring students in the door. Keeping students coming back is a challenge particularly as the weather gets warmer and people want to be outside. I'm offering Yoga at the Park on Saturdays at 9 am, Stoner Park. 1835 Stoner Ave., L.A, 90025. RSVP to attend or show interest. If 3 or more people RSVP, I'll email the details.

9/17 Seniors Arts Fest 11 am - 4 pm Santa Monica Senior Recreation Center, 1450 Ocean Avenue (closest cross street is Santa Monica Blvd)

It's a great festival for all ages, so come move your body with Zumba, laugh with Kim Sebert at her laughter workshop, make something at a booth, drum at the drumming circle and view some art too!
