eBusinessCard

#QR code

I love free stuff like the free eBusinessCard that I just got in about a minute. I also love the QR code generator at http://www.qrstuff.com

A QR Code (Quick Response) is a cell phone readable bar code that can store website URL's, plain text, phone numbers, email addresses and pretty much any other alphanumeric data. Storing up to 4296 characters they are internationally standardised under ISO 18004, so a QR code is a QR code all over the world - they've been big in Japan forever, broke into Europe and the UK a few years back, and are now getting real traction in USA.

I love to learn new things and share my knowledge with others to help people go after their dreams. Dare to dream big and do big things. "It's the end of the me generation and the beginning of we generation." Jack Canfield said. Let's create a better world together.

'Tis the Season of Love

Love More
This Holiday Season...

Do everything with love.

If I decorate my house perfectly, but do not show love to my family, I'm just another decorator.
If I slave away in the kitchen preparing and cooking meals, but do not show love to my family, I'm just
another cook.
If I give all that I have to charity, but do not show love to my family, it profits me nothing.
Love stops the cooking to hug the child.
Love sets aside the decorating to kiss the spouse.
Love is kind, though harried and tired.
Love doesn't envy another's bigger or more expensive home.
Love doesn't yell at the kids to get out of the way.

Love doesn't give only to those who are able to give in return but rejoices in giving to those who can't.
Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
Love never fails.

Healthy Inside-Out

#eBook

Creating a Better World is an organization founded in 2011. Our vision is to create a better, greener and healthier world. Our mission is to empower people to be healthy inside-out. The book, Dream: Creating a Better World is about Yoga Life Lessons that apply to everyone's life. It is personal, practical, and positive. The goal is to inspire teens and young women to believe in themselves and go after their dreams. Creating a Better World shows people how to make small changes that add up to big benefits for their health, their wallets and the environment. Creating a Better World offers powerful, simple, useful ideas broken down into achievable steps that make being healthy inside-out a gradual and affordable process rather than an all-or-nothing plunge.
By educating people about how they can make conscious empowering healthy choices in their daily lives, we hope to improve their health, their wealth and the world.
5 Quick Tips to Better Health:
  1. Eat more fresh local produce. Reduce consumption of regular red meat, replace it with grass-fed beef or wild fish that are caught in a sustainable manner.
  2. Exercise or get moving for 30 minutes 5 times a day. Find a physical activity that you enjoy doing, get an exercise buddy to keep you motivated, write down your reason (lose weight, feel great, stay healthy) and pace yourself.
  3. Think about carpooling, ride sharing or taking public transportation if you really want to be green. You'll save money on car insurance, gas, maintenance, parking, etc.
  4. Use fluorescent lights. According to the EPA, a new compact fluorescent bulb uses 75% less energy than a standard incandescent and generally lasts 10 times as long.
  5. Buy eco-friendly products. Reduce your purchases of disposable and overpackaged items or reuse more of what you already have. Think twice before buying something. Doing this prevents waste and saves you money. It's easy!

Plan to Achieve

Achieve Your Dreams

"It's a fact! Entrepreneurs who write their goals and strategies for achieving them in their business plans get better results than those who don't!" said Dave Lavinsky, President and co-founder of Growthink, a leading consulting firm and investment bank to emerging companies. After graduating from UCLA's Anderson School of Management, Dave has become an internationally renowned expert in fields of business planning, capital raising, and new venture development. He has helped clients across a multitude of industries by specifically developing business plans to present to investors. For example, Dave developed Integreon's (a business process outsourcing company) business plan to raise over $50 million, expanding from 4 to 2,000 employees.
Every entrepreneur has good and bad days. On days that are tough, Dave says, "I'm always inspired by and focused on my written business plan that documents my goals. While there will be many bumps in the road, I've found that if I set and keep focused on these goals, I will eventually achieve them."
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg just issued a statement on the Facebook Blog confirming that his company has settled with the FTC over charges that it has violated user privacy over the years. Facebook is now “required to obtain consumers’ affirmative express consent before enacting changes that override their privacy preferences”, effectively making opt in all future privacy control changes to the audience of previously shared data or content. Facebook must also submit to privacy audits every 2 years for the next 20 years, bar access to content on deactivated accounts, and avoid misrepresenting the privacy or security of user data. (That's why a lot of people don't want to be on Facebook).

My Purpose

#Dream Big

Define your purpose.  I want to empower people to be healthy inside out. With my company Fit-Twist and my upcoming book, I will be able to help people meet both their life goals. My brand is about overall health and happiness and I plan to add new vehicles such as an e-mail newsletter, teleseminars, webinars and be on a radio show to extend my message.
Get a mentor. Having a mentor can save you a lot of time and accelerate your success.
Find meaning in setbacks. What some think of as failures  are just opportunities that allow you to improve and grow. Learn from your mistakes.
Stop selling yourself short. Believe in yourself, go after your dreams with passion and persistence. You need to work through your dysfunctional issues with a coach like Karen Lee, Capture Your Dreams Coaching  in order to achieve your goals. A lot of people have old family dynamics, or issues such as being bullied as a child, that carry over into adulthood and really inhibit their ability to progress. You can't make good business decisions if they're based in fear.

Invest in Yourself

#Organic Business

U.S. sales of organic food and beverages have grown from $1 billion in 1990 to $26.7 billion in 2010. Experiencing the highest growth in sales during 2010 were organic fruits and vegetables, up 11.8% over 2009. CSA California has pick up locations all over L.A. They will donate $2 to gardening and biodynamic projects at local schools, community centers, etc. Choose between weekly or bi-weekly pickup. A $25 subscription at CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) provides a grocery bag stuffed full of fresh, locally-farmed, organically-grown, pesticide-free fruits and vegetables. That's low-cost and healthy. For a list of their fresh organic produce, go to: http://csacalifornia.org/twg.html

1. Question: Why does an entrepreneur seek investment? Answer: To accelerate the growth of their business. It is important to understand this when raising capital, because that’s why an investor invests. So they will want to know what you’re going to spend their money on and how that will accelerate growth.
2. Investors only invest in scalable businesses. They’re not looking to invest in mom and pop business or business that are hard to scale up. For example consulting is difficult to scale up with any sort of speed.
3. You must invest money in your own project. If you have not invested money in your project, why would anyone else? I.e., if you’re not prepared to take the risk why should they?
4. Investors expect you to have skin in the game, which means they want to know you have cash in the business too and that you’ll hurt as much, if not more than them if the business fails or you decide to take a job.
5. There are a million great money making ideas out there, but what investors want are great businesses to invest in, i.e., they don’t generally invest in ideas alone. So present a business, not just an idea.
6. All investors want a good exit strategy, i.e., they want their money to grow and grow big.
7. The earlier the investment money, the greater the risk so the greater the piece of the company you’ll have to be prepared to give up.
8. Investors are looking to do some good with their money. Even philanthropic investors want to invest in a viable business, i.e., they may not be motivated by an exit strategy, but they want their investment to do something positive, which it won’t if the business is no good.
9. If your idea is your “baby” and you don’t intend to sell it, don’t bother trying to raise capital. Investors are looking for a big exit strategy, which they won’t get if you’re not prepared to sell.
10.You need to be prepared to give up more equity than you keep. You won’t get investors if you intent to keep 90% of the business. (It’s better to own 10% of a success, than 90% of failure!)
