Happy Halloween!

I Love Dogs!

The Trick-or-Treat for Homeless Pets fundraiser is going on now through Monday, Oct. 31.

Please support this event aimed at helping dogs and cats in need and donate.
You can help homeless pets in three ways:
1. Go Door-to-Door: Take the orange donation box door-to-door on Halloween, collecting funds instead of candy. It's for a good cause and healthier too!

2. Have a Fundraiser: Plan a fundraiser with your friends and/ or family.

3. Throw a Party: Host a Halloween party to benefit homeless pets — anything from a costume soiree to a potluck party. Ask others to bring their change, their dogs and a healthy dish for the potluck party.

Take pictures and post them on your Facebook page or upload them on Twitpic.com
You can also donate online!

Virtual Book Tour begins on 11/1

"Attention and intention: most people seek “attention” and then “intention”  We all stumble around hoping to be understood. We all feel like we don’t belong somewhere. We all slip into that awkward feeling. It might come when we read something we don’t fully understand. It might come when we are pushed into a work environment that doesn’t suit our personalities. But we find ourselves there as adults, and those very rare moments when someone breaks the barrier and shows us that they see us, that they are giving us attention, that’s the magical moment."

Lesson 3 – Love More, Fear Less

I have learned not to worry about love;
But to honor its coming with all my heart.
Alice Walker

If you have love in your life it can make up for a great many things you lack. If you don’t have it, no matter what else there is, it’s not enough.
Ann Landers

Love is always bestowed as a gift – freely, willingly and without expectation. We don’t love to be loved; we love to love.
Leo Buscaglia

If you love someone you would be willing to give up everything for them, but if they loved you back they’d never ask you to.

However rare true love may be, it is less so than true friendship.

Love is the only satisfactory answer to the problem of human existence.

I Love Animals

Q & A with Author

My favorite poem is The Tiger by William Blake
(A well-known one)

Tyger! Tyger! burning bright
In the forest of the night
What immortal hand or eye
Could frame thy fearful symmetry?

Another (less known) poem I like is Wild Animals by Jenna Thomas

When you look at wild animals
they are breathtaking,
so pure and natural.

If the animal looks you in the eyes
you can feel connected.

If the animal walks up to you
takes food from your hand,
you can feel trust.

When the animal keeps returning
for food,
you can feel needed.

By mistake
you take the animal home,
you can feel complete.

Time goes on
you look into the animals eyes,
you can feel sadness.

Knowing that
you have to return the animal to the wild,
you can feel loss.

When you let the animal go,
it runs!

Secret to Success

#A+B=C

Action + Belief = Commitment

What does action and belief mean to you?
What are you committed to do today?

 Top 8 Commitment Quotes

Only one who devotes himself to a cause with his whole strength and soul can be a true master. For this reason mastery demands all of a person. - Albert Einstein

Encourage your people to be committed to a project rather than just be involved in it. - Richard Pratt

I believe the true road to success in any line is to make yourself master in that line. I have no faith in the policy of scattering one's resources, and in my experience I have rarely if ever met a man who achieved preeminence in money making...who was interested in many concerns. - Andrew Carnegie

The kind of commitment I find among the best performers is a single-minded passion for what they do, an unwavering desire for excellence in the way they think and the way they work. Genuine confidence is what launches you out of bed in the morning, and through your day with a spring in your step. - Jim Collins

The successful person makes a habit of doing what the failing person doesn't like to do.
- Thomas Edison

Genius is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration. Accordingly a genius is often merely a talented person who has done all of his or her homework. - Thomas Edison

In the realm of ideas everything depends on enthusiasm… in the real world all rests on perseverance. - Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Long shots do come in and hard work, dedication and perseverance will overcome almost any prejudice and open almost any door. - John H. Johnson

I Love Yoga Day LA!

Donation Yoga at the Park

I was there at 8 am when it was still cold, but the sun came out. Met Kia Miller and Tommy Rosen - told them how much I loved their class at Wanderlust Yoga. Love Kia's Kudalini-blend class at 9:30 am as we gather the cosmic energy into our hearts and unite to do yoga in beautiful Topanga Canyon - I sweated as we flowed through the asana. We chanted many empowering songs including my favorite "Beautiful am I, Bountiful am I, Blissful am I!" Thanks Yoga Day LA, SunriderLA YOGA Magazine for a great day!
