BPW Foundation is a non profit research, educational and advocacy organization supporting all working women and their families. Founded in 1956, it was started by Business and Professional Women/USA, which was founded in 1919.

Message from the Executive Director
“BPW has been advancing the cause of working women since 1919, and BPW Foundation continues the legacy of Working Women Helping Women Work™.

• BPW Foundation was the first to focus its research and programs exclusively on women in the workforce.
• BPW Foundation was the first to elevate issues of women in non-traditional occupations.
• And BPW Foundation was the first to examine the domestic and workplace needs of women veterans as they transition from military to civilian life. The BPW Foundation’s work supporting women veterans is a natural out growth of its past efforts supporting and encouraging women in non-traditional careers including the military.”
