Meditation

Doga: Yoga with Dogs (HSUS online store)
I am trying to follow the Seven Spiritual Laws of Yoga, the Law of Least Effort. The principle is that we can accomplish more by doing less if we’re not wasting energy struggling and trying to force outcomes that aren’t ready to manifest. In yoga, the greatest benefits come from relaxing into a pose rather than forcing your body into it. When moving into a flexibility pose, once you find the point of resistance, rather than forcing your way through it, breathe. Let go and feel your body move gently pass the resistance. Stay present with your full awareness in your body as you breathe deeply, slowly. As in life, patience is a virtue. The more you are able to embrace, rather than fight your limitations and vulnerabilities, the less limits they hold and the more balance and energy you experience.

1. Acceptance - During your yoga practice, accept your body the way it is. In daily life, practice accepting people as they are and circumstances as they occur. My dog Sparky accepts and loves me unconditionally, we often make friends with other dog lovers and owners.

2. Responsibility - In yoga, this means making the commitment to nurture your body through appropriate exercise and nutrition. Having accepted things as they are, take responsibility for the choices and actions that you take each day. Don't dwell in the past or worry about the future. Live fully in this moment. Sparky is my role model because she is always living in the present.

3. Defenselessness - There are many different schools of yoga and no one “right” way to practice. Every teacher and system has its own merit. Yoga is dedicated to awakening flexibility in body, mind, and spirit so it can accommodate and celebrate the many diverse approaches. Don’t waste your energy defending your point of view or attempting to convince others. Remain open to all points of view. Sparky is my guide since she does yoga in her own way and we walk the figure 8 (a symbol of infinity at the end of Doga: Yoga with Dogs.

Things That I Love

Love Reservage.com!
Sparky - http://fun-dogs.webs.com

Books - Coming Into Harmony by Ilse Klipper
1. I've been trying to relax, slow down & meditation is a good way to do so besides my regular yoga practice
2. It reminds me to breathe slowly, relax my body so my mind then gets quiet like while I was flowing through the yoga asanas/ poses
3. The shield of light meditation (enjoy its protective warmth & peace)
4. I agree 100% that we need to tune our bodies, not just our cars but many care more about their cars than their bodies. To have a healthy mind, we need a healthy body. Create a loving relationship with our body
5. Daily exercise is the key to good health (mental, physical, spiritual)
6. Keep a food diary - a balanced diet is the key to well-being. Create a loving relationship with our food. I love to eat - I enjoy the sight, smell & taste of my meals/ snacks

Brentwood 90049 - My home & that's why I started the A-Z Guide

Cats - I adopted Q.T. a calico female from the shelter on Jan 2000 when she was 3.5 years old. She's 14.5 now. My sister has 3 male cats (also adopted).

Dogs - I adopted Sparky, a Fit Fun Dog (real name Penny) a black & tan daschund mix from the shelter about 1.5 month ago. She's now a part of the Cheng family. My sister has has a purebred Papillon. That's why I created a photo book called Pets of Cheng Family.

Healthy Drink to start my day - Mix 1/2 cup of Pom with 1/2 cup of water, add Amazing Grass ORAC + Fortune Delight and stir. Take 1 Reserveage Resveratrol + 1 ViraLaurin Immune with drink. Tastes great & is good for me.

Exercise - I love to walk with Sparky & do yoga regularly at Corepower Yoga: CPY (1 week of Free Yoga). Aree Khoda, my favorite yoga teacher shared what Gabrielle Roth says with the class: "To sweat is to pray, to make an offering of your innermost self. Sweat is holy water, prayer beads, pearls of liquid that release your past. Sweat is an ancient and universal form of self healing, whether done in the gym, the sauna, (yoga class), or the sweat lodge. I do it on the (yoga mat). The more you dance/ flow through the yoga poses, the more you sweat. The more you sweat, the more you pray. The more you pray, the closer you come to ecstasy." I love CPY mostly because Aree really cares about yoga & people. I feel as if we were best friends from early on. I love her classes since I feel energized & relaxed during + after class. Guess Where I Was Contest 2

Laughter & Yoga

After teaching a Fit-Twist yoga class on Saturday from 9-10 am at a gym close by, Kim and I went to Cafe Rivva for a Post Yoga Smoothie that we both loved. Then, I went home for a healthy lunch before going to another event. On Sunday, I returned to the Farmers Market at around 8 am. Then, went to a big fitness event nearby to check out the Expo Vendors. Took photos, enjoyed the free samples and will follow up with some of the ones that I liked. Brought my dog Sparky along, met other dog owners and had fun. Returned home for a light lunch and took a quick nap. Had a snack at a mall in Culver City around 4 pm before getting ready for the Laughter and Yoga class that I co-lead with Kim Selbert. This is a combination of yoga, laughter, dancing, music and fun 1-hour class with me (Yoga Teacher) and Kim (Certified Laughter Yoga Leader). Laughter & Yoga is in Dr. Oz Top 10 Health Tips.

I visited two grocery stores in West L.A before driving to Culver City. I checked out 2 places there that may not be as well-known. The first photo (top right) is the courtyard of a gathering spot for seniors, the next 2 (top left & 2nd right) is a cute pet store in a mini-mall near Overland and Venice. I love the kefir & yogurt at Grocery Store 1, but I also found a healthy tasty treat at Store 2.

    Fit Fun Dogs

Do you love or own a dog? Want to have
a Fit Fun dog? Connect with other dog
lovers. Join us. Daily exercise and good
nutrition = Fit Fun Dogs. We are a
healthy online pet store and a social
    networking site.
Say "hi" to my dog Sparky, a 2-year old female that I adopted from the shelter. We are a part of the Fit-Twist family. I am also an event planner who organizes Fit Fun activities for dog owners with my Fun-Dogs group. It's free to join and most events are cheap or free. There's a cost to running this group so we are looking for supporting members or sponsors. Say no to puppy mills and adopt a dog or find a reputable breeder at AKC. I am a member of SPCALA and HSUS
    Doga: Yoga for Dogs
If you enjoy practicing yoga, perhaps your dog will too. Dogs are already very adept at stretching and getting themselves into a peaceful state of relaxation, so they are a natural when it comes to yoga. What exactly is doga? “The class is just like any other yoga class I would teach, but the dog is incorporated into all the poses.”  Doga instructor, Suzi Teitelman said. Doga includes relaxing massage, stretching, rubbing, omming, loving, flowing and breathing.

    The Benefits of Doga
Just like people after a good yoga session, dogs seem to feel happy, excited and free. Some even seem to feel proud. The long-term benefits of doga are better health, flexible and toned bodies, and a closer bond with their human.  Not only does doga have all kinds of benefits, it gives you a loving experience with your dog.  I want to teach a free doga class for a group.

    Tips
Invest in exercise and healthy food to take care of yourself and your dog. Don't think you're saving money by getting cheap, mostly junk food. We are what we eat. U.S.A is the fattest country. 70% of Americans are now overweight says the report, a number that will balloon to 75% in 2020. Food researchers indict the couch-and-mouse lifestyle, with people watching more T.V. and clicking online. That's why I'm on the PCTV Diet.

    Farmers Classic and Fit-Twist Yoga

I was at the Farmers Classic today with my dog Sparky and my camera. It was a rushed job because I didn't know about this big event until yesterday, so I quickly applied for a media pass and got it this morning. Had to pay $11 for parking at UCLA then couldn't find the place where I should pick up my pass. They didn't allow the Sparky into the tennis area, saying that dogs will bark. I assured them that my dog Sparky is very well-behaved and wouldn't make a noise, but I had to leave her for a short time to take photos of the event.

I liked the short bit of tennis match that I saw and the vendors at Farmers Classic but didn't have time to browse around since Sparky was waiting for me in a shady spot. I was part of the Wilson Tennis Guinness Book of World Records attempt for the "Most people to bounce a tennis ball on their racquet in one location." See me on YouTube.

I posted photos on Flickr and I'm excited about my Fit-Twist Yoga class in Brentwood every week. Sign up now by going to the Contact Us page. Class will be cancelled unless 3 or more persons RSVP.
