Imagine Living in Singapore!

Jewel Rain Vortex – the world's tallest indoor waterfall
My sister lives in Singapore so I've visited many times before but I was determined to play tourist this time. I made a list of places and things I wanted to check out and managed to complete my list.
I used Gojek (like Uber) and took the MRT (Mass Rapid Transit) to everywhere. I also walked a lot. Morning is the best time to go because there is less of a crowd and it's not as hot. I wore sneakers or comfortable walking shoes so I could walk for hours without getting sore feet. I also brought a spare compact umbrella to shade against the sun and in case of sudden showers.
Botanic Gardens - UNESCO World Heritage Site
My mom and I took the MRT to the Botanic Gardens and walked there for 1.5 hour. It got hot around 11 am, so we walked across the street to eat lunch at Relish. I entered our order on their iPad and waited hungrily for our food. The chicken salad was a bit small but the Thai noodles that my mom got were good.
Chinatown has the best bargains!

I got some scarves and souvenirs for about $15 U.S in Chinatown but the best thing was the food!
We enjoyed a walking food tour - I ate Eggettes (鷄蛋仔) Chinese waffle, curry puff, fish balls (鱼丸) on a stick and had lunch at Maxwell Food Center.
Christmas lights at Gardens by the Bay

My sister took me to Christmas Wonderland at Gardens by The Bay and we loved the Indian themed lights. It rained earlier in the day so I was glad it cleared up at night.  There was quite a crowd and we just ate dinner, so we enjoyed the festive scene without queuing up for food.
Esplanade Park walk has best view!
I took the MRT to Raffles Place station and walked along the Esplanade early in the morning. There were a lot of tourists taking photos at the famous Merlion (the body symbolises Singapore's humble beginnings as a fishing village & the head represents Singapore’s original name, Singapura, or ‘lion city’) and the view of the famous hotel was great. I had breakfast on-the-go and brought along a bottle of water.
Makansutra Gluttons Bay and Marina Bay Sands

We ate satay at Gluttons Bay before going to a concert at the Esplanade Theater/ Concert Hall. Did you know that it's shaped like a durian (a stinky fruit with spikes)? Singapore is a Foodie heaven as you can eat a variety of ethnic food any time of the day. I like cheap eats at food courts and hawker centers. Singapore is very clean and I have no fear about getting sick from street food. I used sanitizing wipes on my hands before I ate if I could not find a restroom nearby. I made the mistake of ordering too much food the first time I was at a hawker center, so I scaled back thinking I could always order more if I was still hungry after the concert.
