Coming to America
Coming to America from Shanghai, Taiwan, Hong Kong to the beautiful Rainbow State of Hawaii
Aloha to you from my heart. Maiden, Mother, Crone, I am an aspect of the Goddess.
My story started out with a constant fight with my older brother who used to bully me and my younger
siblings, but since boys are valued by traditional Chinese families, I was conditioned to sacrifice my
highest good for my family. I dropped out of college to get a full-time job so that I could support my family.
I managed to get a good job as a translator in the U.S. Embassy in Hong Kong where I met my
husband who demanded that I give up my job to become a full-time wife and mom. I gave up so much
of myself that I forgot my spiritual growth, I became very controlling, demanding and selfish, I became
very materialistic and vain. I focused on looking good so I could feel good about myself. I looked
outside myself for love and approval but I was not happy. I always wanted more. When I am with my
granddaughter, I have a glimpse of happiness. She reminds me of what it used to be when she laughs
and plays. I miss you, my beautiful, precious grand child. You are my sunshine.
This is my song to you: Imagine all the people living life in peace.
You may say I'm a dreamer but I'm not the only one. I hope you'll join us now cause now is all
we have, Make the world into one: One Love, One Heart, let's get together and feel all right.
