Miranda Cosgrove (iCarly star) has a few things in common with the 15 other extraordinary teens featured on Parade. Like the members of PARADE’s All-America Service Team, she is committed to public service, as an active supporter of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. “They tell you to give back because it helps other people, but you also get a lot out of it.” It’s a sentiment Cosgrove shares with winners Grace Li and Joe Burgum. She recognizes the power of the Internet: writes about St. Jude on her Facebook page and tweets about it to 860,000+ followers.

PARADE's All-America Service Program, in partnership with the Points of Light Institute/generationOn, aims to honor high school students who are changing their communities through service. About 15 million students in U.S. schools are participating in service activities. “By helping solve problems and meet needs in communities near and far, students enrich their own lives, strengthen our country, and improve conditions all over the world,” says U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan.
